Anderson was appointed a member of the Advisory Committe on the Arts of the National Cultural Center by President Eisenhower in 1959. Her correspondence with chair Robert W. Dowling, and with Jarold A. Kiefer, Roger L. Stevens, Arthur S. Fleming, Dorothy Ducas, Robert Saudek, Frederick W. Richmond, and others from 1959-1963 is in Folders 3999-4000.
Anderson remained on the Advisory Committee for the construction and dedication of the John F. Kennedy Center, and received the Kennedy Center Honors on December 3, 1978. Correspondence with Roger L. Stevens, Martin Feinstein, and invitations to Kennedy Center events from George P. Scultz, Fritz N. Cineas, and John Bennett Coleman; and a transcript of an interview with Leontyne Price, Honors recipient in 1980, are in Folders 2865-2866.
