This copy has tipped in after front free endpaper two folded leaves (25 x 20 cm, folded to 12 x 20 cm) containing an autograph letter from Walt Whitman to William Sloane Kennedy concerning Ralph Waldo Emerson dated "Camden. Feb. 25 87 - Noon" at head of first leaf and signed by Whitman at foot of second leaf (Whitman Archive ID med.00753).
