Almanacs -- Rhode Island -- 1780.
Place of Publication:
United States Rhode Island Providence.
The first almanac published by Bennett Wheeler. A revival of the fictitious Anderson last employed in Rhode Island by Solomon Southwick in this almanac for 1776 or 1777. Cf. Alden.
The calculations are stated to be those of Benjamin West in Chapin, H.M. "Check list of Rhode Island almanacs," Proceedings of the American Antiquarian Society, n.s. volume 25 (1915): pages 26, 38. This seems confirmed by a comparison of the calendar pages and eclipse notes with those in West's New-England almanack, or Lady's and gentleman's diary, for 1780 (Providence: John Carter).
Advertised in the American journal, Providence, Oct. 28, 1779.
