These videos explore the roots of Latin American music. Part 1 recalls the drum rhythms brought by slaves from Africa and the melodies and guitar harmonies of Spain as they blended in the New World. Part 2 looks at Cuban music: its attraction for North Americans as well as its nationalistic appeal. Part 3 examines Latin music as it influences pop music in North America.
