Georgina Lean, daughter of John and Georgina Lean, was born on 18 November 1825 in Wiveliscombe, Somerset, England. Georgina lived with her brother James in Wiveliscombe; she died in 1911.
Summary:
This oblong, marbled-covered journal with maroon-leather edging belonged to Georgina Lean of Wiveliscombe, England. The book chiefly consists Lean's original poems regarding love, marriage, friendship, grief, and family. Five signed drawings are interspersed in the journal: one unfinished pencil drawing, three color botanical drawings, and one drawing of feathers. There are some copied quotations. A recipe for a potato-and-egg salad appears on the last leaf.
