Summary:
The year 1198 marked the double election of the Hohenstaufen Philip and the Welf Otto IV. The beginning of one of the worst political crises of the High Middle Ages, which ultimately captured the entire Holy Roman Empire. By the covenants Otto with the English and the French King Philip with and the partisanship of the Pope became the German throne dispute almost pan-European dimension. Reign of Philip and official documents were marked by armed conflict, shifting alliances and political turmoil in the Kingdom. As Philip's military and political successes its final enforcement and imperial coronation were within reach, the Hohenstaufen was assassinated on June 21, 1208. This collection of documents Philip of Swabia comprises a total of 216 numbers from which Philip eleven exhibited as Duke of Tuscany and four as Duke of Swabia. 199 pieces of his royal period (1198-1208) to you, including 145 obtained in full text and 33 lost documents, eight letters, eight medieval forgery, four surviving under Philip's name pattern documents and letters, as well as two certificates of other exhibitors, he mitbesiegelte. In addition, his wife Irene / Mary is represented with a certificate and a sample letter in the edition.
