Most of Oscar Niemeyer's constructions start with sketches of women's bodies. From these sketches, the architect takes one or two lines that he transforms into his buildings: "I am attracted by the fluid and sensual shape of the curves. These forms I find in the mountains of my country, its rivers, the waves of the ocean and the body of the beloved woman." For his exhibition at TEMPLE, Erik van der Weijde Idea and proposes his look on the architecture and the body of the woman. The portfolio Senate, Brazil consists of eight photographs of the National Congress of Brazil In Brasilia. All sides of the building are presented as could be a classic nude drawing study. Other images in this exhibition are family photographs. Curve offers a dialogue between inside and outside, the human flesh and the cold concrete, the public and the private. This exhibition was organized in collaboration with the Florence Loewy Gallery with the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
