They consist of lithographs and watercolors of ordinary people in traditional costumes. The people are from in and around the Ottoman Empire. Only a few lithographs have captions in either French or Italian. They include depictions of a Turkish peasant woman from Smyrna, a Turkish woman, a water bearer, and a hot drink vendor.
