Title from drawing 146-SK-B. This title and the visual evidence of the two drawings implies that the project was for two clients, Mrs. Robert R. Meigs and H.H. Houston. Drawing 146-F shows only work for Mrs. Meigs, but is drawn on the left half of the sheet, which might indicate that another drawing was made showing the Houston Estate stable on the right half, allowing for overlay.
Commission no. 146. This set includes drawings 146-SKB and 146-F.
Drawing 146-SKB show 2 sites, Meigs Property or "West Stable" on the left side of the sheet and H.H. Houston Estate "East Stable" on the right. This drawing has "Navajo Street at the top and "Formerly Southampton Ave." on the street dissecting the two properties. Both sites have "first floor plans" under the image, and show living room, dining area, kitchen, porch and garage for each site. These floor plans suggest an adaptive reuse of the stables. This drawing has the architect's seal.
Drawing 146-F has "Mrs. Robert R. Meigs" at the bottom of the image.
