"Lara" is by Byron; "Jacqueline" is by Samuel Rogers. First edition of both works. "Jacqueline" had been privately printed before this published edition; cf. Wise. Both later printed separately. This edition is known to exist in four variants. In variant 1, the paper has no watermark. Variant 2 is printed on thicker paper with watermark J/1808 or JB/1818. Variant 3 is variant 2, but with the "II." in running title on p. 82 askew. Variant 4 same as variant 3, but with no period after the "I" in running title on p. 20. Cf. Randolf, F.L. Byron, p. 42-45. This is 1st ed., 3rd variant with watermark on paper and II on p. 82 crooked. Half title: "Poems." Each poem has fly-title (verso blank), and running-title. Includes bookseller's advertisement on  p. at end, with printer's imprint as colophon.
