Summary:
A slim, ruled volume comprised of culinary and household recipes and knitting patterns. The cookbook was written by Minnie in England spanning the years from 1872 to 1920. Cookery recipes include cakes, desserts, icings, meat dishes, puddings, preserves, and sauces. There a several cake recipes such as apple, curd cheese, rice and sponge; and a large variety of puddings such as Bombay, cottage, Cumberland, Hunting, potato cheese, Sage, Watkin, and Victoria. Some household recipes include cough mixture, orphan puppy food, and to get stains off hands. Included in the volume are instructions for Knitting baby items, hats, scarfs, and socks. One page in the volume has illustrated instructions for folding napkins. Many of the recipes have attributions and dates. Pages are hand numbered one to fifty-three with an incomplete index at the end of the volume. A few history notes on on the last leaf.
