Summary:
A comedy set against the background of the 1815 Congress in Vienna. Lilian Harvey plays an ambitious glove sales girl who sees the potential for financial and romantic opportunity the Congress provides, and subsequently creates havoc in her efforts to make contact with nobility. Congress Dances was banned by Nazi censors, not due to political content, but rather because many members of the production crew were Jewish. The film is an example of the German's prowess in the new medium of sound film-making.
