Correspondence between Dr Harold Moody, the League's President and Colonial Secretary Sir Philip Cunliffe-Lister outline the problem, and the official response to it. Sir Philip publicly condemned the hoteliers responsible and sought the opinions of Colonial officials on how best to resolve the issue. The replies are from all over Africa and the West Indies.
