Summary:
Drama-Soc Fest (DSF) is an international festival for university and college drama club societies. This 2-week-long event takes places every year during the month of June. Each year a university or college that is a member of the International Federation of Drama Societies applies to host the event on their campus. This year the Kempton University in Birmingham, United Kingdom, will be hosting the event. The festival takes place over 3 weeks and the average number of participants is estimated at 1,000 students. Kempton University Drama Society are planning on staffing the festival with a team of volunteers that will have to be recruited and trained to welcome all the students attending the event. This case study gives students the opportunity to focus on developing a volunteer recruitment, training and management strategy that can be applied when considering aspects of volunteer management for an international event.
