Summary:
Joan is a young woman betrothed by Tom Pike, who ships off to France to fight in World War I. Fearful for Tom's safety (and sanity) Joan disguises herself as a man and follows him overseas, where she passes herself off as a soldier and experiences the stark terror of warfare for herself as she desperately tries to find her beloved. The fiery tank climax, augmented by intense combat footage, remains vivid and impressive over 85 years later.
